What made you decide to pursue a career in construction?
In my previous life, I was the advertising manager for Ashley Furniture in Fort Wayne. The owner purchased a Circuit City located in Mishawaka, Indiana and converted it into another Ashley Furniture store. Watching and being a part of the transformation of the building sparked my interest in being part of the construction world.
What do you enjoy most about working in construction?
Having ownership and pride in the end result of a facility that I helped build with my team.
What do you enjoy most about working at The Hagerman Group?
The team atmosphere and the amount of pride everyone has. We all want to do what is best for our clients and their facilities.
How has Hagerman supported your career path?
Coming from a background with no construction history, I’ve been given opportunities through programs like the Hagerman Institute and involvement with organizations like the Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana. These resources help me grow and increase my understanding of the construction industry.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I love to be outdoors. Every chance I get, I enjoy visiting national parks, gardening, and having play time with my dogs. I also love to be with my family, so every Saturday, I visit with my parents and spend time with my two adorable nephews.
What’s a fun fact that people don’t know about you?
I’m a better fisherman than my husband. And yes, I take my own fish off the hook!
