Ricky Flake, masonry foreman for The Hagerman Group, is donating his time and talents to build a memorial honoring fallen police officer Lt. Aaron Allan, who was shot responding to an automobile accident.
The structure—consisting of a seating area—will be located in Flake’s Perry Manor housing development. Situated near McFarland Road and Payne Road North Drive, Indianapolis, the remembrance garden is a common space used by the homeowner association to honor fallen heroes—veterans and service members—from the Southport community.
“We have a lot of neighbors that walk around the area,” said Flake. “It’s a nice, quiet place to go.”
